Seeming as it’s approaching Valentine’s Day I thought I would share with you a little poem I wrote entitled ‘Love is….’:
Love is bursting into laughter during an argument. Love is not being pushed against a wall during an argument.
Love is scrambled eggs on toast and a cup of tea in bed on your birthday. Love is not waking up in a lonely hotel room and a café breakfast on the way home on your birthday.
Love is walking down the aisle with no doubt in your mind. Love is not walking down the aisle with someone else on your mind.
Love is proudly wearing your wedding ring. Love is not a pocket enclosing your wedding ring.
Love is receiving a text that brings a smile to your face. Love is not receiving a text that was meant to bring a smile to someone else’s face.
Love is when there’s nothing left to hide. Love is not bruises you have to hide.
Love is being equals and not putting each other up on a pedestal. Love is not neglecting yourself because you have put them up on a pedestal.
Love is when your names become one. Love is not when they become number one.
Love is growing old together. Love is not growing tired of each other.
Love is what you make it.
